Investigating the intersection of ecology, memory, and resonance through contemplation. ΔH @ 15.9°, named for the thermodynamic symbol AH, change in enthalpy,
frames this exhibition as a reflection of transformation rooted in place. Here, the symbol becomes a metaphor for how the environment of Middle Tennessee shapes both matter and mind. Anchored to Nashville’s average temperature, the title marks each work as a product of this region’s climate, geography, and temporal rhythm, a poetic encapsulation of how the natural world acts as both catalyst and context for artistic and ecological exploration.
The works in this exhibition move through a sequence of reverence, persuasion, and mourning. In Confluence, the act of cataloging and re-envisioning Tennessee’s native trees becomes a way of assigning worth of looking closely enough to revere.
Revolutions uses the tools of novelty and awe, exploring whether wonder itself can persuade or shift belief. Murmurs rest in the aftermath of loss, a quiet acknowledgment of what remains when reverence and persuasion are no longer enough. Together, these works trace an emotional ecology: if we cannot recognize and revere what we have, we risk being left only to mourn what we’ve lost.
